negg® Group attends the Italy–United Arab Emirates Business Forum
The event was organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministries of Economy and Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) and supported by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and SACE.
Numerous representatives from the business sector, major financial institutions, and trade associations from both countries attended the Forum and took part in its sectoral roundtables.
EDGE and Leonardo signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to collaborate on the supply and integration of combat systems and the development of advanced naval capabilities. Under this agreement, EDGE and Leonardo will work towards the next phase of this strategic initiative, targeting completion by June 2025.
This LOI follows the agreement signed at The International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) UAE, on 18 February, which was a precursor to a structured partnership focused on jointly marketing a range of products and solutions to governments across multiple countries, also committing to the development of shared intellectual property (IP) and future design innovations.
Francesco Taccone, CEO of negg® Group, together with Valentina Nicosia, General Director, attended the event.
The CEO emphasized the importance of this moment, stating:
"Today's meeting was a high-level summit of extraordinary significance, unprecedented in its scope. I would like to thank the Italian Government for inviting negg® Group to take part in this prestigious occasion within the Sistema Paese framework. This privileged setting paves the way for new collaborations with Emirati partners, including within the Cyber Capacity Building (CCB) initiative under the Mattei Plan for Africa. An important step towards a future of strategic synergies and shared innovation."
The event was opened by Minister Antonio Tajani and the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi. The Italian Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, also delivered remarks.
The closing session was attended by the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni.
