negg® Group is a Platinum Sponsor of CyberChallenge.IT: empowering the ethical hackers of tomorrow

04 Jul 2025

Rome, July 2025negg Group, a leader in cyber security and cyber intelligence solutions, is proud to announce its role as a Platinum Sponsor of CyberChallenge.IT 2025, Italy’s foremost program for the discovery and training of emerging cyber talents.

CyberChallenge.IT is a national initiative launched by the CINI – National Interuniversity Consortium for Informatics, through its National Cyber Security Laboratory. Running from January 28 to July 8, 2025, the program is designed to foster interest in scientific and technical disciplines, particularly computer science, and to prepare young individuals aged 16 to 24 to meet the growing demands of the cyber security sector.

This year’s edition has already kicked off with a “learning with fun” approach, offering participants 12 weeks of engaging and gamified training activities in cyber security, from February to May 2025. Through competitions and challenges, students learn how to identify vulnerabilities, defend systems, and think like ethical hackers, skills increasingly vital in today’s threat landscape.

The urgency of developing a skilled cyber security workforce has been underscored by recent cyberattacks on governmental, financial, and transportation systems. Universities across Italy have responded by investing in dedicated research and training initiatives. One example is the Università Politecnica delle Marche, which established a Cyber Security Laboratory within its Department of Information Engineering. The university has been a committed participant in CyberChallenge.IT since 2019, aiming to educate and place future cyber defenders into the workforce.

“Preparing new generations for today’s challenges is crucial,” said Prof. Gianluca Gregori, Rector of Università Politecnica delle Marche. “Cybersecurity plays a key role. Students need curiosity, logic, and passion—no expert coding skills required.”

The highlight of the entire program will take place from July 5 to 7, 2025, in Turin, where the top teams from across Italy will compete in the CyberChallenge.IT national finals. These three days will bring together students, mentors, universities, and sponsors in a celebration of innovation, talent, and cyber defense.

As Platinum Sponsor, negg Group will be present in Turin with a dedicated booth, will participate in the final award ceremony, and engage directly with participants during networking sessions and talent recruitment moments.

Francesco Taccone, CEO of negg Group, emphasized the importance of this partnership: "As a company deeply committed to technological innovation and national digital resilience, supporting CyberChallenge.IT aligns perfectly with our mission. Investing in the next generation of cyber professionals is not only an act of responsibility, but also a strategic move for the future of cyber security in Italy and beyond."

negg Group joins other supporting organizations such as Aethra TLC, Ancharia, Cerbeyra, Eritel, IFI Consulting, and Loccioni in backing the program at the university level, strengthening the connection between academia and industry.

This partnership highlights negg Group’s commitment to supporting educational excellence and bridging the gap between young talent and the professional cyber security world. CyberChallenge.IT has been officially recognized by the Ministry of Education and Merit as a “Program for the Enhancement of Excellence,” underlining its role in shaping the next generation of ethical hackers and cyber security professionals.
